Where does the time go?

Time is FLYING by this summer. It’s already August. OMG! What happened?

Oh yeah, two jobs, choir practice for church, plus taking care of the animals of the two and four-legged variety. Then there’s that pesky stuff like eating and cleaning, and umm…sleep…uh huh, I’m pretty sure that’s what I’m supposed to be doing right now.

Time just disappears around my house. I start the day thinking I’ll get EVERYTHING done on my list (hardy har har) and I can get a head start on tomorrow’s list. That hasn’t happened in months.

There just isn’t enough hours in the day, and what I realized is that I can still make everything fit I NEED to fit. Not want to, but need to.

I’ve come to terms that all of the household chores might not be perfectly done every single evening, but I snuggled with my boy, who’s not going to want to much longer, and I got all my book pimping done, talked to my husband, got nightly kisses. BONUS!!

You know the adage, “Treat everyday like it’s your last, because tomorrow may not come!” I’m a firm believer in that. So if my time runs out, I’m not going to obsess over a dirty dish in the sink, a few rocks on the floor in the laundry that came inside with one of the spoiled rotten dogs that are laid up in the doggy beds at my feet.

I’m going to spend my extra time, writing and reading and enjoying my family and friends as much as I possibly can. Life’s too short to rush everywhere.

Sometimes the point of the trip isn’t the destination, but the journey to get there.
Good gracious am I enjoying my journey! I’m a lucky girl, and I’m not taking it for granted. :)**GRIN**

Oh, and why did I put a picture in of me at White Castle? Because I would literally shank someone for some right now. Mmm...

    1. Namaste, Susan!!! Everything just gets to be so fast paced and rush, rush, rush. I think so many people are always looking forward and they need to just stop and look at where they are. Probably because I love where I am and want everybody else to be as happy! And thank you for the sweet compliment!!! HUGS!!!

  5. The dietician we used to go to for my son's type 1 diabetes care was always shocked when I told her the treat for us after we got done was to go to White Castle. She'd snort and call them, "meat cookies". We didn't care. The cheeseburgers rule! And did you know that if you make reservations you can treat your love to a white tablecloth dinner complete with a candle on the table and your food brought to the table by a server on Valentine's Day? For the man who has more love in his heart than money in his wallet! Grin!

    1. Those things are straight up awesomesauce!! I've run into a few White Castle bigots today and I have blocked them out completely. I love them and will forever things they are the best burgers EVER! I love the V-Day date idea! SOOOO wish they had them down here in TX. I'd also probably weigh 800lbs and wouldn't be able to fit myself through the door of the restaurant. Maybe then they'd just deliver. :)

  6. Lol. I agree. There is definitely never enough time in the day to do everything that needs to be done. I am happy to hear that you are enjoying it! :)

  7. You would post a White Castle picture - I am from Missouri but moved to Utah so NO White Castle for me unless I go home :(
To top it off our first trip in two years was for a funeral and that small area of Mo didn't have a White Castle!!!!! The other food I miss, probably more than WC on some days though has to be Steak N Shake's cheddar fries & chili mac.

    1. It's definitely one of those nostalgic foods I crave! I live in po-dunk and we don't have Steak N Shake's either. My parents live around an hour away and they have them. Their shakes are SOOO good!!
